UF 150th Anniversary Logo AT Hosts Learning Technology Consortium Meeting

The Office of Academic Technology (AT) hosted the semi-annual meeting of the Learning Technology Consortium (LTC) on April 1 and 2. The meeting brought together representatives from the nine member institutions: Indiana University, University of Delaware, University of Florida, University of Georgia, University of North Carolina, University of Notre Dame, University of Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest University. Topics of particular interest in this Spring's meeting were E-Portfolios, faculty development resources and programs, course management systems, accessibility, course development project management, multimedia databases and other content resource systems.

Participants were treated to tours of AT's newly renovated Center for Instructional Technology and Training (CITT), AT technology classrooms and computer labs, and the Digital Worlds Institute's Research, Education, and the Visualization Environment (REVE) facility, at the Norman Gym.

Presentations were made to the group by various UF experts, including Gail Ring, Director of the College of Education's Office of Instructional Technolgy on the College's E-Portfolio's initiative, Vinnie Taranto from UF's Dean of Students Disability Resources office on accessibility and disabilities, and Howard Beck, Associate Professor and R&D Director, UF Institute for Food and Agricultural Sciences Information Technology, on multimedia databases and related technology.
