Virtual Reality Content Creation Tools | |
The Center for Instructional Technology and Training (CITT) is now offering several Virtual Reality content creation tools to faculty members. Using the hardware and software in our VR Lab, you can easily generate 360-degree views (panoramas) that allow users to look around a scene as if they were actually at the physical location. To make things even easier, our "360 One" tool can capture full panoramas with a single shot. Other types of content--including documents and web links--can be associated with objects in the scene and accessed with a mouse click. These panoramas can even be linked to each other essentially producing a virtual environment that allows a user to travel from area to area with their mouse. These virtual environments can be uploaded to the World Wide Web or stored on a CD, letting users easily access the environment you've created in a variety of ways.
Also available for your use are specialized turntables which can be used to create virtual objects that a user can view from all sides.
See what can be done using these new tools by going to the CITT Open House Virtual Tour online at http://citt.ufl.edu/openhouse/tour/, or visit us in Turlington 2215 for a hands-on demonstration.
