New Web Tutorials Available!
|
Several new time and labor tutorials are available to assist you in
preparing
for the implementation of myUFL systems this summer.
- Approving Time and Leave
All supervisors and managers should review the process for reviewing and
approving time and leave in PeopleSoft. Time worked and leave accounted
for 68% of UF's finances in 2001/2002. Ensuring accurate pay is one of
the most important functions of management. View this session instead of attending the hands-on session titled "Time and Labor for Supervisors and Approvers" or as a review. The hands-on session is not required for access to the system.
- Reporting Holidays
All non-exempt (hourly) employees will report holidays using Weekly
Elapsed Time in PeopleSoft. Exempt employees will not regularly report
holidays, but there is an important exception to this practice. All UF
employees should review the process for reporting holidays.
- Reporting Special Compensatory Leave
All non-exempt employees (TEAMS and USPS) and USPS exempt employees are
eligible to accrue special compensatory leave. This short tutorial reviews
the process for entering time worked, holidays, and administrative leave
to ensure special compensatory leave is calculated properly.
For those who will be entering or working with grant proposals, we have two new Web tutorials.
- UF Start Proposal Page (25 minutes)
The first step to creating grant proposals is using the UF Start Proposal Page in PeopleSoft, which collects key information necessary for setting up the proposal and its associated project(s). Key points to remember when entering information are covered. Click here to view the instruction guide.
- Budget Line Summary (13 minutes)
The Budget Line Summary is used to build a budget for grant proposals after the proposal and budget header have been created with the UF Start Proposal Page. Click here to view the instruction guide.
Bridges recently added a new presentation in its Training section called "The Basics." This "must-see" presentation provides useful tips and information about using the Search feature that is available (and invaluable) in virtually all myUFL systems. See
http://www.bridges.ufl.edu/training/SearchinginPeopleSoft.ppt
Lastly, we now have Classes on Video, beginning with 'Intro to Purchasing and Payables' with more soon to come. http://www.bridges.ufl.edu/training/videos.shtml. Done by Academic Technology's Video & Collaboration Services, these presentations combine streaming video with PowerPoint that you can start and stop as needed.
All web tutorials can be found at
http://www.bridges.ufl.edu/training/web-tutorials.shtml. Each comes with
an instruction guide that can be printed for reference. Please take the
time to review this important content and discuss the new processes with
your team members.
